Starting Over: My Journey to Building a Personal Lifestyle Blog

Here we are again, another fresh start, another attempt at finally bringing this blog to life.
If I’m being completely honest, restarting this blog has been a debate I’ve had with myself more times than I can count. Every year (usually around January), I convince myself that this will be the time I stick with it. I’m excited, motivated, full of ideas… and then life happens. Things get busy, I hit a creative roadblock, or I overthink the direction I’m taking and just like that, the writing stops. Until the next “new beginning.”
Sound familiar?
I’ve watched the videos. I’ve scrolled the websites. I’ve saved the inspiration posts. I know what a blog should look like, but somehow I still find myself stuck when it comes to what I want mine to be. At its core, I’ve always wanted this space to feel like a journal, a place where I can show up and write things as they are. At the same time, I want it to be fun and engaging, which is why I’ve played around with the idea of adding food reviews and lifestyle content into the mix.
The ideas aren’t the problem. The consistency is.
Anyone in my inner circle knows this about me: I go all in at the beginning, but the moment I lose momentum or hit a bump in the road, my motivation tends to disappear and then everything falls apart. Not exactly a blogger’s strongest trait, but it is part of who I am.
So instead of letting that stop me again, I’m choosing to be positive and let this evolve naturally. No pressure. No perfect plan. Just showing up and seeing where this takes me.
This post marks another “first” for me, and with it comes branding that finally feels right.
For years, I’ve worked with my classmate, Jin Buzon, trying to nail down the look and feel of my brand. We’ve explored everything from bold and colourful to soft and calming and eventually realized the answer was both. This brand reflects me: a mix of high energy and calm, excitement and ease. I wanted something visually soothing but still full of personality.
I’ve also found a lot of inspiration from watching Jillian Harris and learning about branding, creativity, and building something from the ground up. It gave me the push to try my hand at entrepreneurship and see what could come from simply starting.
This blog will be a little bit of everything: health and wellness, food, family, and life as it unfolds. Most importantly, it will be a space where I can express myself honestly while sharing the things I care about.
So here’s to starting again. And this time, I’m allowing it to grow, change, and be imperfect.
Welcome to the journey and cheers to starting a personal blog.
